The last release was update 80, therefore the 32-bit filename to download is jdk-7u80-windows-i586.exe (64-bit is named jdk-7u80-windows-x64.exe. Old Java downloads also require a sign on to an Oracle account now:-( however with some crafty cookie creating one can use wget to grab the file without signing in.
'I have downloaded JDK 7 + Netbeans 7.3.1, now I need a database to play with. I want would like to practice with DB2 however when I request download for DB2 Express I get a message that it has to be reviewed first by IBM. Is there a way I can get a download quicker? Also, if I want to simulate mainframe z/OS is there a download for that as well? I have Windows 8 64-bit laptop with 4 Gig memory. I'm an experienced mainframer, but my knowledge on the DB2 side is weak, so I want to practice without having to purchase full blown software. Hello Do you mean a download of DB2 Express-C (free) or DB2-Express ($$)? There are many links to Express-C - try the home page of the Information Center, IBM developerWorks or links listed at http:/sustainablesoftware.net/links.htm. You should have no problem downloading the free version; if necessary, create a fresh IBM ID or clear your IBM cookies in case you have run foul of cookies. I can't answer how to simulate mainframe z/os on a Windows laptop - possibly there is a vmware solution for that, but you'll need to research. Good luck Alex. Hi Fritz, Sorry for the late response.?I got distracted. Jdk Version 1.7 Download![]() Download And Install Jdk 7Is java set in your%PATH%? Both should be system variables. I have both jrockit and hotspot 1.6 several versions and hotspot 1.5, 1.6 and 1.7 with most of the j2ee jdk's, no issues on my end. I don't have Windows-8 so I cannot verify. I do have earlier Windows environments. In 64-bit versions of Win-7 (and Vista) Microsoft provided both a 32-bit version of Internet-Explorer in addition to a 64-bit version of Internet-Explorer. Jdk 7 Download For Vista 32 Bit![]() You can run both of them side by side. The 64-bit version of Internet Explorer on Win7 is in 'Program Files Internet Explorer iexplore.exe'. Download Jdk For Windows 7The 32-bit version of Internet Explorer on Win7 is in 'Program Files (x86) Internet Explorer iexplore.exe'. You can use 'Task Manager' on the 'Processes' tab to quickly see if iexplore.exe is running the 32-bit or 64-bit equivalent - because 32-bit tasks have a *32 suffix in the 'Image Name' display-column. Check on Win8 to see if it is the same pattern as Win7 in this respect.in other words if your Internet-Explorer instance is actually a 32-bit, which would need a 32-bit jvm. I tried Chrome, it failed also. I read somewhere that you should disable your security software or Java may not load correctly, so I decided to uninstall it. Of course, I uninstalled the JDK first and when I went to uninstall NetBeans it wanted the JDK, so I couldn't uninstall it. I guess I should have uninstalled NetBeans first. It's a bundled package. Anyway, I'm reinstalling only JDK 7 now. I couldn't just reinstall the entire package because it threw an error saying the NetBeans folder wasn't empty. Once JDK 7 is reinstalled, I'll try uninstalling again beginning with NetBeans.
